  All I know is this.. I live about   an hour away from this place and I would make the trip back up 95 to revisit. The food is great, the business seems to be family owned. I ordered the stuffed salmon dinner w/ yams and greens and the grilled chicken dinner with the same sides. both dishes came up to a total of $30 (20 for the salmon, 10 for the chicken).  
  
  My only issue that could have possibly caused me not even to bother was regarding them not answering the phone. I originally called and got an answer but i had to tell them guy that answered that I will need to call right back (I was trying to order food for myself and a indecisive elder relative). I assume they thought I was playing on the phone because I was calling from a 202 number because they never picked the phone back up after that (tried calling back 4-5 times in a 30 minute span, even whn I couldnt find the place and was about to just say forget it).

  Purchase catfish and whiting dinners. the fish was fried well. the board greens were very salty. the yellow rice was good. Out of yams. The macaroni was tasty but a tad bit mushy. the way was the big problem. seems like only the owner/cook and his young teenage some were the ones working the place. The wait was over 25 minutes for the order. they did give us a free drink while waiting. the lighting is dim and the decor kinda mixed cast offs. In my opinion, will have to wait until they add more staff in a few months  to give them a possible second try.

  I have never had soul food I didn't like until now. After an extremely long wait I received my food and headed home. Yams are usually my absolute favorite and I've never had any that were inedible until these. They were awful. They were soooo slimy and I could not stomach the taste. The macaroni was made out of penne noodles and the cheese was really loose like it was Alfredo sauce mixed in. The only good thing on the platter were the wings. Overall I was extremely disappointed and I will never return.

  So this is a little long but I had a crappy experience so I'm being honest.
  
  First off I gave this place 4 chances to do right since I know people who rave that their food is amazing. First time I tried to call around 2:30 (on November 10th ) to place a order and didn't get an answer, then I tried about 30 minutes later and still no answer so I ordered from somewhere else. I even messaged them on Facebook asking if they were open and got no response. Second time same thing happen and yes the store was supposedly open per the hours on their website.
  
  Third chance I called and finally got an answer, I asked about delivery and was told that their in house delivery person got sick and quit but I could use DoorDash. So I place my order through DoorDash for the salmon platter and wait. About 30 minutes later I get an email and notification from DoorDash saying my order was canceled. I tried to call the store twice to see what happen and why they canceled my order and no one picked up like the two previous times. I called with a 30 minute break just like before too. So I was pissed and didn't want to even think of giving them another chance.
  
  Fast forward to today I was in the area and thought I would try one more time. I called and got an answer, placed my order for pick up and everything was good to go. I didn't super check my food which was just a side of broccoli and the salmon platter with the sauce on the side but I just checked to make sure it was 2 containers in the bag. I get home and the asparagus and broccoli are burned on one side so it had a horrible taste. Then they put the sauce on top even though the receipt clearly said for it to be on the side. THEN the salmon and rice tasted a buttered bland mess which I didn't even think was possible. Maybe I got the bad cook today but I have had the worst luck with this place and will definitely not be coming back.

  I got take out for dinner here tonight,I got the Mac n Cheese with Shrimp and Crabmeat. This was good,
  but they used Penne Pasta with Alfredo Sauce instead of Elbow Macaroni and Chedder Cheese, that's a little misleading, I wish it was more Shrimp and Crabmeat in it also. The Chicken Wings were tasty and meaty. I will return to try other items.
